Cheech and the Spooky Ghost Bus

Cheech Marin, , illus. by Orlando L. Ramirez. . HarperCollins, $17.99 (32pp) ISBN 978-0-06-113211-7

Trouble surfaces when indefatigable bus driver Cheech picks up some ghoulish translucent-green kids in this latest outing (“the first rule of bus driving is that you pick up all the kids at the bus stop, even the weird-looking ones,” he explains). Cheech and the regular kids try to scare the ghosts away (by dressing as ghosts themselves), and they even sing a song called “Ghosts, Go Home.” None of their ideas works as planned, but the madcap humor makes this a fun and irreverent addition. Ages 4–8. (July)
