Jake slowly wears down Laney’s defenses, knowing that the idyllic setting of his family’s peach farm is the perfect venue for seduction. But the no-strings-attached sex soon involves deeper emotions, and Jake begins to wish that he were capable of offering Laney a committed relationship. Leighton’s intensely sensuous novel alternates between Laney and Jake’s first-person perspectives, creating a heart-wrenching emotional story.
