Searching for Sarah

An anonymous tip sends deputy D.A. Jake Savelle in pursuit of a witness in the Denver hotel-room murder of presidential hopeful Scott Taylor. Jake knows about Scott's sexually addictive behavior and begins searching for women in his recent past. He tracks down Sarah Jamison, a Philadelphia blue blood biding her time as a ski instructor and golfer at an executive retreat in Aspen. Jake, charading as a hotel guest, falls in love with the striking dark-haired beauty. When finally confronted, Sarah admits she'd been at the hotel and had heard the voices of two men the night of Scott's murder. The plot thickens when Jake finds out that Scott's wife has been having an affair with Denver police chief Barry Disoto. As the clues accumulate, someone threatens Sarah's life, and the pair find themselves in danger. Erickson (The Eleventh Hour) builds suspense by expertly weaving romance into multiple thrilling story lines. (Dec.)
