PreSchool-1-This padded, cardstock edition introduces children to eight classic stories from the Old and New Testaments. Each one is told over approximately four pages and is complemented by illustrations across the tops of the pages. The Creation, Noah, Moses, David and Goliath, Daniel and the Lion's Den, Jesus' birth and his work, and the adoration of the Magi are all included. The inside cover provides a letter to parents encouraging them to read the book together with their children. The American Bible Society contributed to its making, and this version is ecumenical in theological content and contains no slant or bias. There are no references to the Virgin Mary or Saint Joseph, for instance. The bright artwork will attract emergent readers, as will the large, easy-to-read font. Although very similar to other children's Bibles in content, the high quality of this edition, as well as its publisher's name recognition will make it a valuable acquisition for any library. Recommended for public libraries and bookstores. Bianca Elliott, Lansing High School, Lansing, Kansas
