Color Wonderful

Joanne Nicholson, Author, Joan Nicholson, Author, Jacqueline Thompson, Photographer Bantam Books $9.95 (0p) ISBN 978-0-553-34238-3
Nicholson and Lewis-Crum are the founders of Color 1 Associates, an international organization of more than 400 consultants who offer a ""personalized color service.'' Their message is that a woman can wear a range of colors, as long as she knows which shades, clarities and values of color look best on her. Four broad categories of ``color types'' are outlined, and readers are given guidelines to help determine their group. Extensive advice on wardrobe, makeup and hair coloring for each color type is then given. Although their concepts hardly seem ``revolutionary'' and their prose is at times overly dramatic, the authors impart a great many useful pointers to those interested in breathing new life into their wardrobesand into their self-images. Included is a 24-page color insert not seen by PW. Excerpt to run in Ladies Home Journal; author publicity. (February)
