Adding to the shelf of board books that feature built-in finger puppets, this story of a girl and her sheep helps launch the My Best Friend and Me series. The story follows Ruby (the girl) and Molly (the sheep) through the four seasons, with Molly’s wool keeping her dry and warm during autumn and winter; come summer, though, she needs a haircut (“Nice and cool without my wool!” shouts Molly). Molly’s soft, plush head pokes through each scene, and while that interactivity is the main draw, the crisp digital graphics and tidy storytelling hold their own.
