Till the End of Time

June Flaum Singer. McGraw-Hill/Contemporary, $18.55 (368pp) ISBN 978-0-8092-4166-8

Singer ( Star Dreams ) pens a plodding, overblown romance bursting with designer brand names, amorous Europeans and exotic locales from the Costa del Sol to Tangier. We meet gorgeous, sophisticated Andrianna DeArte as she awakens in a hospital, the victim of a devastating illness. In a welter of flashbacks we learn that the young Andrianna, unacknowledged daughter of a California millionaire, was sent after her mother's death to live with his icy ex-mistress and her libidinous husband, who renamed her Ann Sommer. At a boarding school patronized by wealthy Continentals, ok? for variety. `Continentals' sounds a little weird, and I think `Europeans' twice isn't so terrible.ws she falls in love with fellow pupil Gae Forenzi, whose fabulously rich Italian father later tutors her in the art of making men happy. By the time she strikes up a romance aboard the QE 2 with Joanathan West, a California Donald Trump, Andrianna has a closetful of shameful secrets, among them her remission from a deadly disease. By turns sentimental, stiff and saccharine, the novel boasts the requisite heated loved scenes. (June)
