Thunder Island

An antiterrorism training seminar facilitates an unexpected reunion between its well-respected instructor, Kyle Parker, and his first love, Jennifer Whitmore, a Miami K-9 Search and Rescue specialist. Memories of their rocky breakup, nearly 15 years before, and Jennifer's pending marriage to one of Kyle's colleagues leaves them temporarily gun-shy. When the two team up to rescue a toddler during a hurricane, the drama and tension overwhelm them, and they soon give in to their renewed passion for each other. Against the backdrop of Sawyer's lushly drawn exclusive Key West Thunder Island resort, Jennifer and Kyle face their biggest obstacle yet--Jennifer's fianc is murdered and the local redneck police chief, believing Jennifer to be guilty of the crime, is hell-bent on making her pay. As the plot unfolds, it becomes evident that everyone is a potential suspect, but Kyle must continue to fight to gain both Jennifer's freedom and her heart. Sawyer (Half Moon Bay) adds whimsy to her satisfying romantic suspense with quirky hotel guests (an inseparable set of twins, a stripper, an eccentric homosexual named Plotzy) and the busybody owner.
