Handmade Baby Clothes

The baby clothes and toys in this book, to be knitted, crocheted or stitched, are exquisite creations that will bring great satisfaction to those who make them. Perrone, a New Mexico needleworker who holds a Swedish graduate degree in decorative needle arts, has an educated eye for design and color, and her instructions are clearly outlined with patterns as well as diagrams and close-up photos showing details. Included here, for the newborn to three-year-old, are a lace-trimmed cotton dress, crocheted overalls, knit sweaters with matching hats, mittens and socks, appliqued quilts and bibs, cross-stitch pillows, samplers and dolls. Additional notes on needlework techniques, enlarging and transferring patterns, laundering and blocking are a helpful bonus.
