Fighting Dirty

Sidney Halston. Loveswept, $2.99 e-book (259p) ISBN 978-1-101-88630-4

Too many clichés clog up Halston’s fifth Worth the Fight contemporary, about a wealthy Brazilian developer and MMA fighter who romances a tattooed bartender from the wrong side of the tracks in small-town Florida. Jamie Lynn Calhoun spends a year turning down propositions from Enzo Silva. When she finally says yes, a few hours turns into four glorious days. Jamie worries about his wealthy, buttoned-up background, but he accepts her for who she is. Though Enzo loves how at ease he feels with Jamie, he worries what will happen when she learns that his business plans may derail the murals she paints with her street-artist friends. Readers will recognize Jamie’s wariness of men, the chip on her shoulder, Enzo’s evil ex-wife (who of course decides she wants him back), and several other elements of this been-there read-that novel.
