But when Trey meets her penitent grandfather, who’s dying of cancer and longs to reunite with his son, she has a change of heart—and she also falls for his second-in-command, Jeremiah Benton, who’s as close to her grandfather as a son. The palpable chemistry between Trey and Jeremiah turns into a raging fire of lust and love, but when Deuce finds out about Trey’s actions, she may risk losing her father. LaQuette’s strong heroine and hero shine on every page as they fight their way to the happy ending they deserve; sneaker heads, meanwhile, will be especially taken with the descriptions of both characters’ style.
