Two former rodeo stars get a second chance at love in the sweet contemporary standalone that opens Kauffman’s Firefly Lake series, spinning off her Blue Hollow Falls series. Cheyenne “Chey” McCafferty left the rodeo following the death of her brother in a bull-riding accident and has built a new life running a lavender farm with her three closest friends. Chey hasn’t seen her childhood sweetheart, Wyatt Reed, since he professed his love to her 10 years prior in their teen years and she broke his heart by being too young and confused to reciprocate. When Wyatt unexpectedly shows up on the farm, invited by a mutual friend, sparks fly immediately, but Wyatt’s newfound internet fame streaming video footage of his far-flung travels conflicts with Chey’s contentment with her peaceful, stay-at-home life on the farm. They’ll have to find a way to balance their different life goals with their desire for each other if they want to make their relationship work. Readers of the Blue Hollow Falls series will benefit from being up to speed on the preexisting friendships in this story, but even new readers will delight in the reacquainting of these friends turned lovers.
