Five adult-baby animal pairs star in this addition to the National Geographic Kids Look and Learn series. Each animal gets two spreads: the first features photographs of adult and child seals, leopards, elephants, ducks, and frogs against bright, graphic backdrops, each labeled by name (“A baby elephant is called a calf”). The second spread shows each animal in the wild, along with an invitation to count the young animals pictured. Photos of baby animals practically sell themselves, but with a matching game and brief animal facts also included, this board book doesn’t get by on adorableness alone.
