The artistic team behind Out of Sight and Birds of a Feather returns with a third oversize volume devoted to animals, this time those of the water. As in the previous books, flaps large and small provide an interactive hook. In the early pages, silhouettes of animals appear on the flaps; lifting them reveals delicate, etching-like color images of each creature along with basic information (“Swordfish use their ‘sword’ to slash at large prey, making it easier to catch”). Later sections let readers peek inside shells, match textures with corresponding animals, and assemble fish by flipping four side-by-side panels. Like its predecessors, it’s an engaging introduction to a variety of animals. Ages 5–8. (Apr.)
