Dallas Lovett's Woven Bead & Wire Jewelry: 25 Gorgeous Projects

Lark Crafts continues its line of visually stunning how-to books with this offering from Lovett, a renowned jewelry designer and teacher. The two dozen-plus projects include a range of pieces with interesting sculptural forms and bright beads. Lovett's work is distinguishable from that of other wire-worked jewelry designers. As usual with Lark titles, the photographs and instructional illustrations pop with both color and clarity. But while Lovett and Lark do their best to convey the techniques required to make each piece, and offer clear, detailed, step-by-step instructions, it is hard to believe the projects can be satisfactorily completed without the benefit of a flesh-and-blood instructor. That should not scare anyone except the rank novice away from the book, which is both inspiring and lovely and has the potential to take crafters to the next level in wire-worked jewelry design. (May)
