Just You Wait: A Grace Street Mystery

Jane Tesh. Poisoned Pen, $24.95 (264p) ISBN 978-1-4642-0367-1

A lot is going on in Tesh's charming fourth mystery featuring the inhabitants of 302 Grace Street, Parkland, N.C. (after 2013's Now You See It). Quirky Folly Harper, the owner of BeautiQueen Cosmetics, hires PI David Randall, one of the residents, to locate her business partner, George McMillan, who ran off with her money. Meanwhile, psychic John %E2%80%9CCam" Camden, who owns the Grace Street house, asks Randall to find out who killed elderly Viola Mitchell, a community theater actress. Then Cam's difficult fianc%C3%A9e, Ellin Belton, wants Randall to determine why Cam is having second thoughts about marrying her. Randall does some serious detective work to find Viola's killer, but the emphasis is on relationships, including Cam's struggles with the Beltons: Ellin, her mother, and her two sisters. Cam is also worried about his new and unwelcomed power of telekinesis, which manifests in strange ways. Fans of lighter mysteries will welcome the adventures and misadventures on Grace Street. (Feb.)
