Octopus Escapes Again!

As Octopus searches for food, other aquatic creatures are just as hungry, which gives newcomer Angus a chance to show off some of the cephalopod’s niftier tricks, including squeezing its body into a shell to avoid a sea turtle and sacrificing one of its arms to a grouper, since it will grow back. Angus uses a bright orange for Octopus in her marbled, collage-style illustrations, allowing it to stand out from its aquatic surroundings—except when Octopus, a “champion of camouflage,” changes color to blend in with a rock when a gull threatens.
