The White Suits: Dressed to Kill.

Frank J. Barbiere and Toby Cypress. Dark Horse, $17.99 trade paper (120p) ISBN 978-1-61655-493-4
Writer Barbiere (Five Ghosts) joins artist Cypress (Blue Estate) for an action-packed tale. Sarah Anderson, an FBI agent gone underground, is investigating her father’s disappearance during the Cold War—and his appearance in a group called the White Suits, who are now terrorizing the Russian underworld. Along the way she teams up with an amnesic mark named Prizak, and the two go in to Russia with guns blazing, navigating the Russian mafia and eventually meeting up with the Suits themselves. The story’s chapters are nonlinear, but readers will enjoy piecing it all together by the end, when they are greeted with a good twist and a solid ending. Blood and gore Tarantino-style are the focus of the artwork. Through coloring that is sometimes too impressionistic, the line art is fierce: each line is bold and angular, despite its imperfect style, creating a gritty overall effect. (Dec.)
