The Tinysaurs Send Love (Tinysaurs)

On a rainy Valentine’s Day, three animation-style dinos, the Tinysaurs, are disappointed to discover their town bereft of cheer. Why? “The Tinysaurs/ start to investigate/ and discover/ a worrying tale.// The post office appears to be closed;/ no one is getting their mail!” Though initial efforts to make gifts for their neighbors flop, the undaunted dinos turn to the classic standby—homemade cards—and a joyful, book-turning vertical spread shows the missives being distributed to glad townsfolk. Hegarty employs upbeat rhymes and cartoonlike pacing in this do-good dino tale, while Gray contributes bright, busy narrative scenes to make a holiday story that balances sentiment and celebration.
