A Witch to Remember: A Wishcraft Mystery

Set in the Enchanted Village neighborhood of Salem, Mass., Blake’s enjoyable ninth and final Wishcraft mystery (after 2018’s To Catch a Witch) finds Darcy Merriweather, the owner of As You Wish (“a personal concierge service”), preparing to marry police chief Nick Sawyer. However, as the meticulously crafted wedding and local Elder Renewal ceremony approach, Divinitea Cottage, the tearoom hosting Darcy’s bridal luncheon, catches fire, and the strangled body of the shop’s owner, fellow witch Leyna Noble, is soon discovered inside. As a secret Craft Investigator, Darcy must juggle wedding planning with catching an arsonist and a murderer. Darcy’s nemesis, Dorothy Hansel Dewitt, is an obvious suspect. Darcy’s faith will be tested as she faces a roller-coaster lead-up to her nuptials, but help comes from a mysterious woman and a special gift. Once again, Blake offers an appealing blend of cozy mystery with the secret rules and wonders of a group of clever witches. Fans will be sorry to see the last of Darcy and friends.
