The Science of Channeling: Why You Should Trust Your Intuition and Embrace the Force That Connects Us All

Helané Wahbeh. Reveal, $18.95 trade paper (200p) ISBN 978-1-68403-715-5

Wahbeh, director of research at the Institute of Noetic Sciences, argues it is possible to observe and measure psychic phenomena in her intriguing debut. She answers frequently asked questions about psychic techniques, including how often channeling experiences occur and how channeling works, and while those skeptical of Wahbeh’s claims will remain unconvinced, readeres of a similar mindset will be rapt by accounts of mind-to-mind communication and individuals who have predicted the future. A channeler herself, Wahbeh believes everything in the universe is connected and everyone has the ability to channel, and to that end reassures readers they aren’t mentally ill, abnormal, or unhealthy by psychiatric definitions for experiencing or wanting to pursue channeling. However, the lofty promises of the life-changing potential of channeling are a far cry from the exercises, based on guessing concealed shapes, that Wahbeh relies on as evidence—a rather glaring gap. This won’t win over any skeptics, but those already in the author’s camp will appreciate the arguments and case studies. (Sept.)
