Relentless

In the page-turning conclusion to Golding’s Moto Grand Prix trilogy (after Wreckless) bull rider and champion motocross racer Mason King falls in love with Chiara Martes, the best friend and surrogate sister of Massimo Vitolo, his rival on the motocross circuit. Massimo and his family saved Chiara from abuse at the hands of her father, and Massimo’s determination to keep anyone from ever hurting her again makes him overly protective. Mason has his own pain from living in the shadow of his brother, Billy, and abiding by the rules of his hard-edged father, who’s pushed Mason into roles he wouldn’t have chosen for himself. Mason and Chiara’s chemistry burns bright as they attempt to keep their romance under wraps against a backdrop of high-speed races and pounding adrenaline. Golding brings a lot of spice to their stealthy relationship, which of course can’t stay secret for long. In Chiara, Golding offers a sensitive look at the repercussions of childhood abuse in adult life, though the descriptions may prove triggering to some.
