Toast to Family

Glassmaking artists Gross and Busch follow Toast to Counting and Toast to Feelings with a quirky ode to family, envisioned entirely as slices of toast. Each page offers a photo of a different slice—“Brother toast” has a yellow ball cap made of American cheese, while jellylike patches of red and orange create lively hairdos for Mother, Sister, and Aunt Maude. The creations aren’t exactly appetizing (oozy white blobs are used for the grandparents’ hair), but the fact that the compositions are made entirely of colored glass is impressive, and the novelty of a toast family is a lot of fun in itself.
