The Realities of Creation: Moving Beyond the Limitations of Our Beliefs

Jean Adrienne et al.. Rainbow Ridge, $16.95 trade paper (192p) ISBN 978-1-937907-41-9

This companion volume to the online telesummit of the same name loosely focuses on the theme of "actually believing you can have your wishes come true" while exhibiting the excesses of new age salesmanship. Each of the nine speakers takes a chapter to introduce a particular spin on personal growth and enlightenment. Pieces include a mishmash of pseudoscientific explanations that are hard to swallow and impossible to verify (such as Jean Adrienne's channeled idea that 144 strands of human DNA were given away to help a dying star system), erroneous logic, dramatically capitalized concepts, practitioner-trademarked methodologies, confirmation bias%E2%80%93fueled self-validation, and dramatic revelations of the author's spiritual prowess. But most of all, the book suffers from a sense that the voices within are competing for the reader's acceptance of their systems rather than building something harmonious together, leaving the book without coherence and the reader lost in a jumble of authorial egos.
