Walking Sam

Deanna Lynn Sletten. Deanna Lynn Sletten, $3.99 e-book (211p) ISBN 978-1-941212-25-7

Golden retriever Sam and two cats named Punkin and Spice bring plenty of whimsy to Sletten’s sweet contemporary romance. Despite being ideally suited, Minneapolitans Kristen Foster and Ryan Collier cluelessly cruise through the entire novel just missing each other by inches. When divorced pediatric oncology nurse Kristen moves into the house next door to salesman Ryan, she spots a very young woman tiptoeing out of his house at the crack of dawn and assumes the 30-something widower is a player. Kristen’s not interested anyway, because she’s dating a surgeon 20 years her senior. But once Sam gets into the act, all bets are off, as she works her doggy wiles to bring Ryan and Kristen together. Some might find this to be saccharine, but others will enjoy the touching G-rated story about two perfectly matched people endearingly missing all the cues and clues that would lead to their mutual happy ending.
