A Tree for All Seasons

Maryse Guittet. Twirl (Chronicle, dist.), $9.99 (8p) ISBN 978-2-84801-945-1

In this board book die-cut in the shape of a tree, readers can explore the changes to the tree and its foliage as the seasons progress. "It's spring. The tree bursts into blossom," reads the opening spread; a cartoon bird, ladybug, and bee are labeled in the bloom-filled branches, and lifting a flap that reads "Who's hiding here?" uncovers a pink rabbit. The next two pages hold similar activities and sightings for summer and fall; winter gets short shrift, though, with the snowy tree shown on the book's back cover, along with the copyright information.
