Los Gatos de Maria Tatin

K-Gr 2-Maria Tatin keeps a bright, clean house and makes great apple tarts, but no one ever comes to visit her. She consults a fortuneteller who gives her a complicated ritual to follow, and suddenly she finds she has 36 new cats. The story is told in elegant, rhyming Spanish and the finely detailed, vivid illustrations correspond nicely with the poetic text. The book includes the recipe for delicious apple tarts, but unfortunately the metric measurements may bewilder some readers.
