Arousing the Buy Curious: Real Estate Pillow Talk for Patrons and Professionals
In this real estate handbook, Saltzman admits up front that her prose and advice is not prudish. If infusing the real estate business with brazen sexual innuendo is an act of merit, then Saltzman deserves high praise. Section headings such as "Are You a Real Estate Wantrepreneur?" and "Preaching the Buy-Ble" attest to the author's fun and lively spirit. But beyond the glitzy word play is a compendium of surprisingly conventional insights into real estate success. Saltzman acclaims the art of salesmanship, and notes the importance of acting in the best interest of clients. Real estate purchases involve tough questions, and Saltzman insists that buyers, sellers, and agents all prepare for them. Her advice that agents listen to what clients mean, not necessarily what they say, is among the book's more useful observations. Saltzman's suggestion that agents not take the real estate business, or themselves, too seriously may have a double-edged resonance with readers; whether her claim that the ideas "my potty mouth spouts are valid" will depend in part on the significance that admonitions such as "Don't be a denyhard. Join the believolution" may convey.
