The Billionaire's Touch

J.S. Scott. Amazon/Montlake Romance, $5.99 e-book (254p) ISBN 978-1-5039-5092-4

Scott's Sinclair siblings series continues its downward slide with this disappointing third installment (after The Forbidden Billionaire). Evan Sinclair is devastatingly sexy and enigmatic in his brother Jared's book, but once in the spotlight, he's awkward and saddled with an overly sad backstory. Miranda Tyler's own clich%C3%A9d past is so full of despair that it's a wonder either is able to walk and chew gum at the same time. For a year they have conducted an intense relationship via email, but neither knows the other's real-world identity. Evan is flustered by his intense attraction to Miranda in person, so he reverts to aloof condescension, but Darcy he's not. Then he dons his first pair of blue jeans and becomes a mensch. Conflict arises when he figures out that Miranda is his correspondent and keeps it a secret. Every turn of the plot is sadly predictable. (Mar.)
