Yeti Baby!

This fourth entry in the Hazy Dell Flap Books series stars Yeti Baby, a creature with two horns, light turquoise skin, a lavender raindrop nose, and a body covered in white whorls of sheeplike wool. Barks’s prose is gently curious, with an emphasis on questions, as Yeti Baby traverses a snowy mountain and encounters friends along the way: “Who’s gliding past/ the twinkling trees?” one page asks as the titular figure approaches a grove of pines with holiday lights. Beneath the flap on the opposite page, the answer is revealed: “Two gumdrop elves/ on candy cane skis!” Cartoony, candy-colored digital art by Hunt follows Yeti Baby climbing snowy boughs, taking a train ride, and heading home to a “cozy ice cave.” A whimsically wintry lift-the-flap book.
