This contemporary standalone is romantic, sexy, and just a little sentimental. When playboy divorce attorney Drew Jagger returns from vacation on New Year’s Eve, he decides to make a quick check on renovations to his Park Avenue office before heading up to his penthouse apartment. Construction progress looks good, but someone left a light on in the file room. Opening the door, he’s surprised to see a comely redhead leap onto a chair and threaten him with some serious krav maga moves. When her skirt falls down around her ankles she starts to look a lot less threatening. It turns out that some con man rented Jagger’s office to the redhead, Emerie Rose, an Oklahoma transplant and marriage counselor. Taking pity on her, the confirmed playboy lets Emerie use some of his office space until she can either retrieve or replace her lost deposit. In the meantime, he fights a losing battle against committing to her. Fans of humorous contemporaries will find this a delightful diversion. (BookLife)
