K-Gr 3-Milo's adventures continue as he leads a party of thrill-seeking mice to a mysterious island. Once there they meet up with a tribe of mice that look different from them and have unusual habits. As with the English edition published in October 2000, readers get to choose between two different endings. One shows the explorer mice treating the natives with respect and having a pleasant and mutually beneficial visit. The other has them behaving in a fearful and defensive manner. This solid translation will serve very well for classroom discussions on tolerance and diversity. Ediciones Norte-Sur has also published Milo y las piedras m gicas (Milo and the Magical Stones,1997). Recommend for all libraries and bookstores. MOB
