Save the Last Dance

Shelley Shepard Gray. Blackstone, $15.99 trade paper (288p) ISBN 978-1-982658-58-8

Gray turns the focus onto Kimber Klein, one of a trio of sisters who were separated at birth and reunited as adults, in the heartwarming finale to the Dance with Me trilogy (after Take the Lead). Kimber retired from her modeling career in New York City to move to Bridgeport, Ohio, with her long-lost sisters, Traci and Shannon, the heroines of the previous books. She meets 15-year-old Jeremy Widmer and his handsome foster father, Gunnar Law, while volunteering at a local library. As Kimber bonds with Jeremy and helps Shannon teach classes at her dance studio, she and Gunnar embark on a sweet romance. Then Kimber gets a call from her agent asking her to come out of retirement for one last photo shoot in New York. Kimber agrees, but worries about drawing the attention of a superfan turned stalker. This suspenseful subplot adds some welcome tension to the chaste, slowly evolving love story. Series fans will be glad for this satisfying final visit with Gray’s winning heroines. Agent: Nicole Resciniti, the Seymour Agency. (Nov.)
