No More Cancer: A Complete Guide to Preventing, Treating, and Overcoming Cancer

Gary Null. Skyhorse/Gary Null (Perseus, dist.), $24.95 (256p) ISBN 978-1-62087-617-6

Radio host and prolific author Null (No More Diabetes) doesn’t mince words in this hearty diatribe against the medical industrial complex—a “corrupt system defined by greed, bad science, and an appalling disregard for human life.” According to Null, special interest groups, Big Pharma, a “shady network of government agencies,” and others want to keep the multibillion-dollar cancer industry running strong while suppressing information about prevention and alternative healing methods. In Part One, Null runs down the “failed war” on cancer, and addresses the expense and dangers of treatments such as chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation. Null sees a “new paradigm” on the way, and in Part Two, he presents the work of a number of alternative scientists and physicians, including Max Gerson, Stanislaw Burzynski, and clinical herbalist Donald Yance, as well as information on how to contact their clinics directly. The book also includes a collection of healthy vegetarian recipes, a listing of useful herbs and supplements, and testimonials from patients who have followed alternative methods he supports. Readers facing a cancer diagnosis will find food for thought, though Null’s bleak outlook on the motives of the medical mainstream may be difficult to digest. (July)
