Sales from the 30 companies that reported revenue to the Audio Publishers Association for its 2008 survey fell 6.7%, to $331 million. Digital downloads continued to increase its market share while CD sales fell back.

Random House Audio/Listening Library is on a mission to raise awareness of audiobooks around Orlando, Fla. Its Listen Up, Florida! regional summer marketing campaign encourages people to listen to audiobooks during their summer vacation drives. Focused in the Orlando Metro area, it began on Memorial Day and will run until Labor Day.

eMusic Adds Audiobooks from Recorded Books and HighBridge By Lynn Andriani - 05/21/2009
eMusic’s audiobook catalog has officially surpassed 7,000 titles. The expansion is due to new agreements to sell DRM-free audiobooks from Recorded Books and HighBridge Audio. eMusic has also recently added Sounds True, Gildan Media, Oasis Audio and PublicAffairs to its roster.

OverDrive in Deal with ChineseAll By Lynn Andriani - 05/18/2009
The digital audiobook distributor is partnering with digital publisher ChineseAll to supply Chinese-language e-books and audiobooks to public libraries in North America. The collection will include more than 20,000 titles, with 8,000 e-books and 3,000 audiobooks to be available in the first year.
