Hugh Jackman as Wolverine
Saw Wolverine Friday and I could watch Hugh Jackman with no
sound...just watching him sweat on screen does it for me.

I thought Mother's Day came early this year when I went to the Post Office.  There was a special gift from Harlequin (more in tomorrow's blog) and a Beverage Warmer from author Dina James who heard me complaining on Twitter about how my tea gets cold before I get to it.  I told you Twitter rocks!  Go join and thanks Dina...it works wonderfully....hot tea!

From author Brenda NovakWelcome to Brenda Novak's 5th Annual On-line Auction for Diabetes Research. This year we have more amazing items up for auction than ever before. Last year we raised $252,300. Our goal for 2009 is $300,000. In the very first day, we did $42,222. Thank you to all who are participating. (I'm offering a 1 day (24 hours) of blogging on my Beyond Her Book blog.  You can add pictures and video. It's a one day only bidding on May 19th 3 p.m.)

From author Sherrilyn Kenyon:
I've become a new "Mom" with the hatching of 16 new chicks.  No, haven't named them all yet, but they're soft adorable balls of fluff.
(Look closely at the picture because they are the same color as the straw...don't you just want to cuddle one?)

From author Danniele Worsham (Writer's Playground) The Heart of Dixie Romance Writers, the northern Alabama Chapter of RWA, hosted its 12th annual Romance Readers Luncheon on May 2, 209.  Over 23 romance authors hosted tables and mingled with 170 romance-loving guests.  Author Vicki Lewis Thompson held the place of honor and presented an entertaining look into the split personaliltiy authors.  Author Linda Howard received the 2009 Heart of Dixie Mentor of the Year Award.

From Jeania Uplinger, VP Sales and Promotions, Jasmine-Jade Enterprises:
Are you ready to “kick it up a notch” in 2009? Make plans right now to attend the most exciting event of the year—the first-ever ROMANTICON! This is not a conference you’ll want to hear about after the fact, that’s for sure!

Jasmine-Jade Enterprises, parent company of Ellora’s Cave, Cerridwen Press and The Lotus Circle, is pulling out all the stops to entertain, educate and empower every ROMANTICON attendee. Each day has been planned to give you plenty of opportunities to play, chat with your favorite authors, mingle with cover models and finally meet all those people you talk to on the blogs. Beyond parties and networking, dozens of workshops for published and aspiring writers have been customized with your suggestions in mind. Readers and those fascinated with all things psychic will also have a plethora of interpersonal activities to choose from. (Joysann will be attending this and reporting back.  I'll be at another conference, so dual coverage)

From children’s author Janet Halfmann:  To celebrate Children’s Book Week, the South Milwaukee Public Library will feature authors Janet Halfmann and Gibbs Davis and  illustrators Carol Schwarz and Jeff Miracola.  This event promises to be a fun night of stories and artwork on May 12th from 6-8 p.m.

You're very welcome, Barbara! Cold tea is a very sad thing! Unless, you know, it's a hot day and the tea is iced and is supposed to be cold. Then it's yummy!
