HEA...In Toilet Paper?

July 2, 2009
Winner of the toilet paper wedding dress competition

While we all dream of our own HEA (happily ever after), how many of us dream of it ending in a toilet paper wedding dress?

Well, this competition has been going on for the past 5 years by CheapChicWeddings.com and the entries can only use toilet paper, glue and/or tape only.  Dresses are judged on originality, creativity, beauty and the use of toilet paper.

According to CheapChicWeddings: "Grand prize winner Ann Kagawa Lee found inspiration in the movie Gone with the Wind and combined that with Japanese Origami to come up with the winning design. This year’s second place winner is Terri Glover of Marlin, Texas and third place goes to Guadalupe Andrade of Reseda, California. Terri wins $500 for her design and Guadalupe wins $250 for her entry.

Ripley’s Believe it or Not! Sponsored this year’s prizes and will display six entries in their museums around the world."

I love this contest and have been following it for years.  Kudos to all the entries.

Bottom Line:
The dresses are really gorgeous and creative with the added bonus of the material avaiable during wedding emergencies.

I could have saved a fortune on my wedding gown had I just thought of TP - and the multi-functionality of the material would have been a lifesaver.

The winning dress does look gorgeous. And if people start crying with happiness and there's no napkins or tissue around, they can grab a piece off the dress.

Wow. I could read so much into this. 1 - it is a green way to go. 2 - If the marriage goes south you can flush your memories.... Thanks for sharing Barb! LOL

As long as you're not getting married on a rainy day! I imagine tp dresses are super absorbent. :)
