Finally, I am so sorry to hear about Edith Layton. The romance world isn't going to be the same without her. Her site says that she finished a book a few months ago, so at least we have yet another book to remember her by.

Hi Barbara... Maa'm, Thank you for your courage of asking AirTran personnels to fly me on FIRST CLASS. It is highly appreciated, and people like YOU are the reason why service members like me will change their mind to stay longer in the service. My family and I and in behalf of all my fellow service members all over the world, "We Thank You" from the bottom of our heart.

Just a slight correction, I have 18 years and 7 months total of service. I will give you more updates later.

As soon as the plane landed in San Francisco, my nephew Michael Abad, Jr sent me a text stating that, he just enlisted and just finished signing a contract with the US Marines. He will leave for Basic Training either August or September. He will be in the US Marine's Intelligence School right after completing Basic Training.

My sister Clare and her husband Michael Sr was kind of upset. They want him to finish college and then join the US Air Force later. I advised them to support their son's decision to serve his country earlier than expected. For him to joined without his parent's Blessings; I think, it is a sign of MATURITY on his part. I applauded him for his courage to do that although it would have been better if he asked his parents first. Of course I am always the proudest in our family since it has been my goal to build a "PLATOON" of soldiers from my family members in the US Armed Forces. Michael Jr will join us today, coming from San Antonio and I cannot wait to see him and tell him how proud I am as his uncle.

Romel Delacruz Gayagoy, my nephew in Miami joined the US Army last month and will leave for Basic Training in September. He will become a Medical Laboratory Specialist. He is the son of my sister Eleanor, a veteran in the US Army who retired 2 years ago.

Yesterday, my brother's retirement (MSGT Austin Delacruz,Jr) in the USAF was great. I was teary eyed capturing the moment to an ending of a great career, and it is something that I am always THANKFUL of. The sacrifice of our DAD (Austin, Sr), that he gave to this country, is something that I am really proud of. We have a career because he started it and we followed, and now the 3rd generation in our family keeps following. I am sure this will never end.

Hi Barbara, it was so great to come across your blog today and see the pics of you at the Dorchester office. I've heard so many great things about them and have friends, like Jeff Buick, who are published by Dorchester.

A few comments about their Next Best Celler contest on Textnovel.com...it is very cool to be involved. I'm hoping to be the "new voice" in romance with my debut romantic suspense, Lancelot's Lady, which I plan to write under a pen name--Cherish D'Angelo. (sounds romancey, huh? lol) I invite you to check out Lancelot's Lady.

I mainly write suspense thrillers, but I also have a general fiction/YA title that's in negotiations for a major motion picture deal. Romance was something I grew up reading though, and something I've played with, but never attempted to get published. Until now. :-)

One thing I like about Dorchester is that they like to try new things. And so do I. I also like the fact that they invite people like you to the office to have subs! lol
