Author Peter Brown recently embarked on a 10-day national tour across five states to celebrate the release of The Wild Robot Protects (Little, Brown), third in his Wild Robot middle grade series. Events included a mix of school visits and bookstore appearances; here we present a selection of photo highlights from the tour.

On September 26, Brown presented to around 250 students in grades four to six at Stafford Middle School in Houston, and demonstrated how he draws Roz the robot.

Brown did an additional round of school visits in Houston the following day, and spoke with 150 students at Hoffman Middle School.

Appearing at a ticketed event on September 25 at Cedar Park High School in Austin, Tex., Brown gave a presentation to 300 students and families. In attendance: one very enthusiastic Wild Robot fan, wearing a Roz costume.

On September 29, readers connected with Brown at the Day-Riverside Library in Salt Lake City, followed by an evening event hosted by The King’s English Bookshop. Here, Brown (c.) is joined by readers at the Day-Riverside Library.

Brown visited Barnes & Noble Hillsboro in Hillsboro, Ore., (above) on September 30, where he taught readers how to draw Roz and signed many books. One fan in attendance (below) proudly displayed her nails, which she had matched to the new book’s cover.
