The King of Kazoo by Norm Feuti. Scholastic/Graphix, $12.99; ISBN 978-0-545-77089-7. Comic strip artist Feuti (Retail; Gil) populates his first graphic novel with hybrid bunny-humans, full of clever dialogue and curious inventions.

My Thumb by Karen Hesse, illus. by Rich Deas. Feiwel and Friends, $16.99; ISBN 978-0-312-67120-4. Hesse’s rhyming picture book features a redheaded girl who gleefully sucks her thumb.

How to Hang a Witch by Adriana Mather. Knopf, $17.99; ISBN 978-0-553-53947-9. When 15-year-old Samantha “Sam” Mather and her stepmother to move to Salem, Mass., her family’s connection to the witch trials makes Sam a target of girls whose ancestors were among the accused witches in this YA novel. Magic Tree House #55: Night of the Ninth Dragon by Mary Pope Osborne, illus. by Sal Murdocca. Random, $12.99; ISBN 978-0-553-51089-8. The perennially bestselling early chapter book series gets a new installment, in which time travelers Jack and Annie return to Camelot.

Pyramid Hunters: The Iron Tomb by Peter Vegas. Aladdin, $16.99; ISBN 978-1-4814-4578-8. Vegas launches a new middle grade series filled with clues and riddles in which Sam gets embroiled in an adventure in Egypt.
