Because I’m Your Mom by Ahmet Zappa; illus. by Dan Santat (Little, Brown March 28, $17.99 ISBN 978-0-316-33821-9). The sequel to picture book Because I’m Your Dad is an ode to mothers for helping make their children feel understood.


Don’t Touch That Flower! by Alice Hemming, illus. by Nicola Slater (Sourcebooks Jabberwocky, March 28 $17.99; ISBN 978-1-7282-7136-1). As spring approaches, a squirrel attempts to save a new bloom from curious animals in the latest book in the Squirrel & Bird Book series.


Get Up, Stand Up by Bob Marley and Cedella Marley, illus. by John Jay Cabuay (Chronicle, March 7 $7.99 board book; ISBN 978-1-79721-942-4). In the third book in the Marley series, inspired by the artist’s songs, a girl learns to stand up for herself during a difficult day at school.
