Grammy Award–winning singer-songwriter Corinne Bailey Rae is celebrating the 20th anniversary of her song “Put Your Records On” with the release for her debut picture book of the same name (Rocky Pond). While on her recent tour, Rae gave away a record player at her show at the Kaufman Music Center in New York City. Here, Rae (c.) poses with the winners.
Let’s Give a ‘Loud’ Welcome
On March 21, author Adib Khorram made an appearance at Loudmouth Books in Indianapolis to celebrate the launch of his new YA book, One Word, Six Letters (Henry Holt). The book follows two teens as they face the fallout of a slur that is called out during a school assembly. Here, Khorram takes a selfie with attendees.
Try It Out
Phil Rosenthal, Emmy-winning writer and producer, and host of Somebody Feed Phil, and his daughter Lily dropped by their local bookstore Chevalier’s Books in Los Angeles on March 29 for a storytime event presenting their new picture book Just Try It! Someplace New! (S&S), second in the Phil & Lil Book series. Illustrated by Luke Flowers, the picture book follows young Lily as she prepares to stay overnight in a new place.
The Key Holds All the Answers
Kelsey Day recently headed out tour to present their YA thriller The Spiral Key (Viking), which follows Bree, an outsider who receives an invitation in the form of a key to an exclusive party, only for the party to turn dangerous. Day gave a reading from novel during the launch event at Hive Mind Books in Brooklyn.
