In a move that will give him bookstore distribution of print editions of his Galactic Football League young adult series while retaining hardcover and e-book rights, Scott Sigler has signed with Diversion Books to do trade paperback editions. Diversion, the affiliate company of Waxman Literary Agency, will release the trade paper editions in partnership with Sigler's Dark Overlord Media imprint under which the paperback will be released. Perseus will handle distribution with the first two books in the series, The Rookie and The Starter, set to be released August 7 as $9.99 trade paperbacks. The books were not offered to any traditional publishers.
Sigler has previously sold the YA books as hardcover from his Web site, but he has never before had bookstore distribution. The Waxman Agency's Byrd Leavell represents Sigler for his adult fiction which has been published by Crown (Nocturnal, Ancestor, Infected and Contagious.) Scott Waxman says the agreement with Sigler shows the flexibility Diversion can offer authors.
