Hilary Van Dusen has been promoted to executive editor at Candlewick Press. She joined the company in 2006 and was most recently senior editor.

Kell Wilson has been promoted to marketing manager, licensing and children's at DK, where she will continue to look after properties including Lego, Star Wars, and Disney, as well as work on school and library initiatives.

Kathleen Quinlan has joined DK as assistant marketing manager, licensing and children's. She was most recently events and marketing specialist at Media Source Inc.

Courtney Carbone has been promoted to associate editor at Random House Books for Young Readers/Golden Books; she was previously assistant editor.

Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing has three promotions. Katherine Devendorf has been promoted to senior managing editor for Aladdin, Simon Pulse, Little Simon, and Simon Spotlight; previously she was managing editor for Aladdin and Pulse. Christina Solazzo has been promoted to associate managing editor for Little Simon; previously she was senior production editor for Little Simon and Simon Spotlight. Mandy Veloso has been promoted to production editorial assistant; previously she was managing editorial assistant.

Scholastic has four new hires. Caitlin Friedman has been named v-p, trade marketing; most recently she was at Scholastic Media. Colleen Prendergast has joined Scholastic as associate manager, licensed publishing; she was most recently rights coordinator at HarperCollins. Kristin Carder has joined Klutz as designer; she was previously at Braid Creative. Vicky Eva has joined Klutz as senior sourcing specialist; she was previously at One Kings Lane.

Bethany Bryan has joined Papercutz as associate editor; most recently she was social media manager for the Ezra Jack Keats Foundation.

Random House Children's Books has some promotions and new hires. Stephanie O'Cain has been promoted to senior marketing manager from marketing manager. Sarah Wharton has been promoted to assistant marketing manager from marketing associate. Alissa Nigro has been promoted to marketing coordinator from marketing assistant. Hannah Black joins as assistant marketing manager; she was previously marketing coordinator at Diversion Books. Megan Williams will join on April 13 as managing editorial assistant.

Nancy Hinkel will be stepping down as v-p and publishing director of Knopf Books for Young Readers on May 1. She will be exploring new career opportunities outside of book publishing, after 20 years in the business. Hinkel joined Random House Children's Books in 1996, from HarperCollins, and was named publishing director of Knopf and Crown Books for Young Readers in 2003.

Simon Tasker will be joining the Printers Row Publishing Group as v-p and publisher, juvenile proprietary and Silver Dolphin books, on May 18. Most recently he was v-p, product development at Disney Publishing Worldwide.

Jody Mosley has been named associate publisher of Abrams Books for Young Readers, a new position, effective May 1. She was formerly director of special markets at Abrams. Mosley has been in publishing for nearly 13 years, in sales positions at Random House, Macmillan, and Hachette, before joining Abrams.

HMH Books for Young Readers has four promotions. Anne Hoppe has been named v-p, associate publisher, senior executive editor, at Clarion Books; she was formerly senior executive editor. Julia Richardson has been promoted to v-p, editorial director of paperbacks; she was formerly editorial director of paperbacks. Bethany Vinhateiro and Alex Preziosi have been promoted to editor, franchise publishing; both were previously associate editors.

Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Books for Young Readers has three promotions and a new hire. Sheila Smallwood has been promoted to v-p, creative director; she was previously creative director. Cara Llewellyn has been promoted to associate art director; she was previously senior designer. Opal Roengchai has been promoted to designer; she was previously associate designer. And Catie Albanese has been hired as marketing assistant; she was previously administrator, trade business operations.

Ruta Rimas has been promoted to senior editor at Simon & Schuster's Margaret K. McElderry Books; she was formerly editor.

Siena Koncsol has been named publicity manager for Harlequin Teen; she was previously publicist at Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing.

Caroline Osborn has joined Little, Brown Books for Young Readers as subsidiary rights associate; she was formerly subrights and marketing coordinator at Bloomsbury Children's Books.

Susan Katz, president and publisher of HarperCollins Children’s Books, will retire this summer after 28 years with the organization. Suzanne Murphy, v-p, publisher of Disney Book Group/Disney Publishing Worldwide, has been named as Katz's successor.
