Barnes & Noble has released a collection of free apps that will allow users to view movies and TV shows in their Nook Video library on various devices. B&N launched Nook Video in the fall of 2012, and the service lets customers buy, or rent, content from premium cable channels and movie studios. With the apps, consumers can now watch content purchased through Nook Video on iPads/iPhones, Android devices and streaming video players, like Roku. And, for those with Nook Tablets, a new app will bring up Nook Video automatically on their device.

Jonathan Shar, v-p and general manager of emerging digital content at Nook Media, said the new apps allow B&N to "offer customers one of the most dynamic and accessible movie and TV show stores available.”
