Abrams ComicsArts used its panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con International to announce an agreement with digital vendor Comixology to begin digitl distribution of its graphic novel and graphic nonfiction titles. Abrams ComicsArts will launch its digital program with four full-length graphic novels and one Art book, with more titles to come.

The four graphic novels to be released as e-books are My Friend Dahmer by Derf Backderf, Empire State: A Love Story (or Not) by Jason Shiga, Mom’s Cancer by Brian Fies and Fairy Tales for Angry Little Girls by Lela Lee. The art book is Cats, Dogs, Men, Women, Ninnies & Clowns: The Lost Art of William Steig by Jeanne Steig with Illustrations by William Steig.

All Abrams ComicsArts e-books will be available for download on iPhone, iPad, Android, Kindle Fire and online. Comixology CEO and founder David Sternberger said, “Partnering with Abrams ComicArts provides an opportunity to expand the readership for these titles and for comiXology as a whole.”

Charles Kochman, editorial director of Abrams ComicsArts said hew as “thrilled” to have the ComicsArts line of graphic novels available in digital formats and Abrams direcrtor of digital assets and technology Lindy Humphreys, said, “We look forward to expanding the audience for our titles with this exciting collaboration.”
