Book Walker, a Japanese e-book retailer offering titles in Japanese and English, has launched a simulpub digital storefront offering chapters of popular manga series from Yen Press and Kodansha in English and Japanese the same day they are leased in Japan.

Simulpubs, the process of digitally releasing chapters of manga simultaneously in English and Japanese, are a popular way of delivering manga content to fans of Japanese comics worldwide. Simulpubs satisfy the demand of non-Japanese fans to receive content as soon as its available while helping to frustrate digital pirates who profit from the long delay required to translate manga into English for print.

Among the weekly and monthly series titles available in BookWalker’s new simulpub storefront are Aposimz by Tsutomu Nihei, Devils’ Line by Ryo Hanada, Domestic Girlfriend by Kei Sasuga, Grand Blue Dreaming, and Wave, Listen to Me! By Hiroaki Samura.

Titles available are published by Yen Press, a joint venture between Hachette and Japanese prose and manga publisher Kadokawa, the parent company of BookWalker; and Kodansha, a major Japanese publisher of prose and manga.
