BookShout, a platform for selling and promoting print and digital titles, has been chosen to deliver content to attendees at Austin’s SXSW festival in 2015. Additionally, SXSW attendees will be able to use BookShot to buy books at the conference.

Those at the annual event, happening in Austin from March 13-22, will be able to buy e-books by SXSW speakers, or receive promotional content, using the BookShout platform. Instead of distributing bags of physical swag, SXSW organizers will instead use BookShout technology to place codes on badges that will allow digital content to be downloaded to a conference app throughout the event.

SXSW attendees will also be able to use BookShout, which has text-based retail technology, to buy a book by sending a text to cell number. BookShout, which was itself featured at SXSW Interactive in 2012, also gives its clients the ability to bundle print and digital titles.

SXSW spokesperson Peter Lewis said BookShout technology will allow the conference's speaker and presenters to "magnify the reach and influence of their content.”

BookShout CEO Jason Illian added: “SXSW is an iconic venue for launching new ideas and great content—our platform simply makes their megaphone bigger and louder. If technology fans from around the world can purchase presenters’ content while being connected to SXSW, we’ll be serving all parties well."
