Bestselling author Veronica Roth has been added to the list of big names that will headline events at BookCon, the consumer show that will be part of this year's BookExpo America. The author of the Divergent trilogy will be a part of two just-announced events set for May 31.

Roth will be participating in a conversation with author Alex London (the YA series, Proxy), and in a panel called “Dystopian Futures: Are They Science-Fact or Fiction?”

The talk with Roth, explained BookCon show-runner ReedPOP, will be focused on Roth's forthcoming Four: A Divergent Collection (HarperCollins), as well as London's forthcoming book, and the second title in his Proxy series, The Guardian (Philomel). Roth will be moderating the dystopian panel, which will feature the authors Alaya Dawn Johnson (The Summer Prince), Marie Lu (the Legend series), and Danielle Paige (Dorothy Must Die).

Brien McDonald, manager of BookCon, said the addition of Roth to the show "is huge for our event and more importantly her fans." He added that, at BookCon, Divergent fans will now "not only get the chance to listen to Roth talk about the next installment in her celebrated series... but also hear her lead an insightful discussion about science fiction with marquee authors."

The announcement of the Roth panel adds more diversity to BookCon events that have been criticized by some for focusing too much on just white male authors.
