After a year reigning atop adult fiction bestseller lists, Freida McFadden has signed a deal extending her partnership with Sourcebooks through 2028.

Jenna Jankowski, assistant editorial director at Poisoned Pen Press, landed world English print rights to three new hardcover fiction titles by McFadden in an exclusive submission by Christina Hogrebe of Jane Rotrosen Agency. The first title will release in early 2027, followed by the second later that year and the third in 2028.

McFadden had three of the top 20 bestselling books of 2025 and, according to Sourcebooks, sold more than six million print units. The thriller author’s numbers got a hefty boost at the tail end of the year thanks to the blockbuster film adaptation of The Housemaid, which was originally published in 2022. The film has grossed $133 million at the box office since its release on December 19, and a sequel has been confirmed.

McFadden currently has six books lined up for 2026. Dear Debbie, a trade paperback about an “unassuming advice columnist,” is slated for January 27 and has already been picked up Amazon MGM Studios for TV adaptation. The rest of McFadden’s 2026 slate includes Want to Know a Secret? in March and The Divorce in May.

A handful of additional film adaptations of McFadden’s work are underway, including The Teacher by Apple Original Films, The Tenant by Amazon MGM, Never Lie by Netflix, and The Surrogate Mother by Sony Pictures.

"We are so excited to deepen our partnership with Freida,” said Dominique Raccah, Sourcebooks publisher and CEO, in a statement. “Together we have pushed boundaries and created an innovative program that continues to strengthen her connection to an ever-growing and loyal readership.”

Raccah added, “This is just the beginning.”
